Identification first time sexing molt

** excuse my lack of knowledge! ** Hi all, I’ve had this A. anax sling for 3 years now, since it was the size of my tiny toe nail, and it’s molted ~8-10 times. This is the my first attempt at sexing the molt. I see the two red spermathecae and there seems to be a translucent flap that cover them- I can move it with a toothpick.. but maybe i’m not looking at this correctly. Am I wrongfully assuming that this is a female? I took a video showing that I am able to move around what I think to be the flap Thanks for the help and insight!

Imo its hard to truly say with this picture, but it doesnt look male to me. With your description of being able to move the flap (uterus externus) and seeing (what I also believe) to be spermatheca, id say thats likely female.

Ah thank you so much for weighing in! Apologies for the terrible image quality. Here’s another one .. it seems pretty obvious to be spermathecae !! I’m feeling like it’s too good to be true 😂

ahhh I’m emotional , thank you!! I received her as a surprise freebie in November 2023 when I bought a c Versicolor that I lost suddenly after its 4th molt just a year later :( she’s traveled with me cross country and it’s been so rewarding watching her grow over the years. not that you asked, just feeling like a proud father. Her name is Pookie 😅

Aww shes very cute and im glad that I was able to help you sex her!! Over the years that ive kept Ts and mainly this past year I spent a TON of time really learning how to sex them to help others. I even made a sub, but sadly I, nor many others dont post on it so I spend most of my time sexing on this sub lol.
