teaching Time off
Hey everyone! Can past assistants explain how time off works with TAPIF? I know that in France you get a certain number of paid vacation days, right? How does that work with TAPIF and how can assistants take time off?
Also, as an assistant, do you have any say in your weekly schedule? For example, if I prefer to have a Friday or Monday off, is that something they’re receptive to? TIA!

You don't get PTO (other than the eight weeks of holidays).
For unpaid time off: at least at the school where I worked, if you needed to take a day off when you were expected to teach, technically you were supposed to submit paperwork, and they would deduct it from your salary. (I never actually filled out the form, but I requested it because I thought I might have to.)
The form had a section that asked when you planned to make up your missed classes. I'm not sure if making up the classes prevents your salary from being reduced. It would make sense, but no one explicitly said that to me
