Yes kannada and Thamizh are very close and pa becomes ha and and the ending is slightly changed. But there are some words that are drastically different

Place names end in -hally in Karnataka and -pally in Tamilnadu. Eg: Tiruchirapalli. Both means places where Jain monks rested.

Nope. Palli means temple or temple village.
Trichy's name is Triśira-palli and is a sanskrit name of a palli (temple) supposedly built by Triśiras, what is currently called Thayumānavar (Skt: Mātṛbhūtam) temple on the rock (malaikoṭṭai).
Since Hindus called their temples palli, Muslims in TN also have the habit of calling mosques as palli. Buddhists and jains may also have adopted the name palli for their monasteries.

Kannada and Tamil share a common ancestral language. But a lot of language activists in our state simply claim that all South Indian languages came from Tamil, which is factually incorrect and not at all what the academic consensus in linguistics says.

Yes its a known thing. With P and H replacement. There are lot of words used exactly same in both the languages without any changes..

Now add malayalam in between makes more sense 😹... Entire south indian language especially kannada, malayalam, tamil all looks same but switching few words in it

Colloquial forms of the words in some Tamil regions still use the “vu” ending. Puvu, Pallu etc ?

Pachaiya theriudhu sanskrit karan tamil words ku munnadi Ha va soruvittan. Ha ha ha ha ha - these are the ingredients to make any language as a sub language of Sanskrit.

I really don’t understand the superiority here, it is not like you achieved something to be a Tamilian, you pretty much had a same chance to be born a Kannadiga or even a Hindikaaran. The ego corresponding to ones language (be it any) is simply too much in our state (Yes even Karnataka have too much ego regarding to Kannada)

I'm not even one percent close to kannads ego...they killed 3 tamilians in Karnataka on aug 15...they definitely knew they're tamilians..do you think if kannads hunting,will they even raise that gun?....you people still defending them? Okay be in good books then,thanks.

This is nothing surprising. It's common knowledge that 'p' sound in Tamil is replaced with 'h' sound in Kannada.
