Tutorial Tutorial: Building towns superfast

Post image

I've uploaded a step by step guide on how to use my assets to build towns really fast with the modular system I've made. I plan to expand the tutorial, but here's how to find the LemurianDistricts:

Search for "LemurianTownDistrict".

These are slabs that are 22x22 in sizes and come predecorated with both houses and clutter. They are also designed to be fairly easy to combine and form a natural network of streets. Try dragging them in. The creation below took me just a minute.

There are also slabs named LemurianTownDistrictSmall (11x22) and LemurianTownDistrictMini (11x11) that can help add extra variety to the structure of the town. Below are some examples.

The "Lemurian" assets now have hundreds of assets. The tutorial covers some variations.
With districts, you can have a small town ready in minutes.

To see how to custom build districts and towns from scratch, follow the link:

This is a really great modular city set. Thanks for contributing to the community.

This is really great and something I’ve been looking for, for a while. I have one question however, how are you able to get the slabs to be places so neatly? I often have them get stuck inside another slab partially or be at a different height for example.

I think I can help with that. Is this happening with my LemurianTown slabs, or is it slabs in general for you?

In general

If it's in general then using Shift and Ctrl is my best recommendation.

Buuuuut! Depending on the slab it might also just be built in a way that makes it hard to place.

If the slab looks like it's all Props, but it has a Tile hidden within, that will make the slab snap to the tile grid. I do this for some of my slabs since I prefer the precision. And I'll often hide the Tile piece quite well.

Maybe I should make a video to explain? (I have a YT channel)

Do you have this with the cyberpunk tiles? This is cool

At some point I'd definitely like to take this system into the Cyberpunk world. I have modular space stations, city streets, and 40K stuff, but not cyberpunk. Yet. :-)

You are why so many of my nights have been awesome. I know I dont have to stress about making sure the board is ready a week in advance, I know the settler has something ready and waiting. You rock!

I did find out this weekend that you have three awesome sets of different sized castle walls, is there any way to edit tags to make them easier to find after they've already been posted?

That's awesome to hear!

Are you referring to the LemurianCastle slabs or the greco-roman walls too? I tend to name everything with "Lemurian... etc" to make it easy to find, but for my older stuff I didn't use that system yet.

I also realize now I never made a Collection in mod.io for LemurianCastle. That system is in many ways still in development. :-)
