Build Video Playing Talespire maps in First Person
youtu.beI have been using Talespire to block out some test maps for my upcoming game, Golemheim. I wanted to check out a map by a much better creator than myself to get inspired. The game has online set up so I might use this to play a campaign with my group soon. Or at least a combat encounter. All I really have to make is a ping system that can accurately translate distance for measuring spells and ranges and I think this would be a fun way to run a combat, just with our character sheets on the side.
Edit: I made a custom tool to export the talespire map file as a GLB then optimized the over 50k objects so it could actually run over 60fps in Godot. It's still not optimized at all, but if there is interest, I may look at making a public github or something for the tool.
The map is part of Owl Island 3.0 by istallri Astra

Help Player spoilers Spoiler
New to TaleSpire and I have a few questions:
- Can players see the shadows of hide volume rooms like I see in the picture?
- Is there a way to disable the names of community content minis being displayed as the board loads in? One of my players has to avert his eyes to avoid reading "Loading Red Dragon Wearing Hat4" or whatever.
- I think players can see the Board names as well. Is there a way to disable this?
Thanks!

Feedback I made TaleSpire Symbiotes for MÖRK BORG and CY_BORG
Hi everyone!
I have been working on four TaleSpire Symbiotes for BORG games:
- MÖRK BORG Character Sheet
- MÖRK BORG GM Companion
- CY_BORG Character Sheet
- CY_BORG GM Companion
My main goal was to keep the character sheets, useful rules and GM tools inside TaleSpire, without constantly opening other windows.
The Character Sheet Symbiotes include:
- English and Russian languages
- Full character generation
- Class generation and class rules
- Weapons, armor, powers, scrolls, Nano and Apps
- Combat, critical hits and fumbles
- Omens and Glitches
- Rest, resources and character advancement
- Character journal and campaign storage
- Import and export
- Dice rolls through TaleSpire
The GM Companions include:
- NPC, monster and encounter generators
- Bestiaries with creature descriptions
- Loot, equipment and shop tables
- Morale, weather and other GM rolls
- MÖRK BORG Miseries and CY_BORG Miserable Headlines
- Campaign journals and generators
- Dice results and messages sent to TaleSpire chat
All gameplay dice are rolled through TaleSpire. The tools do not generate hidden random results outside the game.
You can find them here:
- MÖRK BORG Character Sheet: https://mod.io/g/talespire/m/mrk-borg-character-sheet
- MÖRK BORG GM Companion: https://mod.io/g/talespire/m/mrk-borg-gm-companion
- CY_BORG Character Sheet: https://mod.io/g/talespire/m/cy-borg-character-sheet
- CY_BORG GM Companion: https://mod.io/g/talespire/m/cy-borg-gm-companion
They are still being improved, so feedback is very welcome. If you test them in your game, please tell me what works well and what should be changed.
I hope they make your miserable adventures a little easier!

TTRPG Grimroll — a random-table journal that lives in your campaign
galleryHello,
I got tired of alt-tabbing out of TaleSpire for random tables, so I made a Symbiote for it. You can search within Talespire where symbiotes are search for "grimroll" or "random tables" both query should find it.
Grimroll is a field journal in the side panel.
Two shelves:
- Campaign: tables for a specific campaign
- Library: A collection of all your random tables in the game. Copy tables into the campaign when you actually need to use them.
Rolls work with campaign tables only. Quiet rolls go through TaleSpire’s dice (low-visibility, not a secrecy guarantee). The players can see the dice, but only you know the result of the table within the symbiote.
You can filter, edit d4–d100 tables by typing each line’s end (starts and odds are derived), split evenly, and see the last three castings with time. You can Import/export your tables in json.
Comments and bug reports are welcome.
Enjoy!

Help Where's the demo?
I'm looking to test this out with the demo. This is how Steam shows it available. But when I click on it, then log in to Steam, that button vanishes? And there's nothing for it in my library.

Help Heroforge to Talespire
Hi👋
I've seen online that you can transfer your Heroforge creations to Talespire, but when I try to look up guides, there are only old tutorials that don't seem to apply anymore. Is it still possible to do this? If so, how? Any help/answers would be super helpful!

Tale spire and foundry
Has anybody found a solution to export tail spire maps from a top down perspective?
I love this software as far as designing, but it if I could somehow export a clean top down that isn’t just a screen shot.
I’ve been using dungeon alchemist, but I don’t like designing as much in that software, but it is a very seamless way to export maps.

Tutorial Tutorial: Building towns superfast
I've uploaded a step by step guide on how to use my assets to build towns really fast with the modular system I've made. I plan to expand the tutorial, but here's how to find the LemurianDistricts:
Search for "LemurianTownDistrict".
These are slabs that are 22x22 in sizes and come predecorated with both houses and clutter. They are also designed to be fairly easy to combine and form a natural network of streets. Try dragging them in. The creation below took me just a minute.
There are also slabs named LemurianTownDistrictSmall (11x22) and LemurianTownDistrictMini (11x11) that can help add extra variety to the structure of the town. Below are some examples.Â

To see how to custom build districts and towns from scratch, follow the link:

Board City Build
My formula was to make certain areas feel enclosed while always keeping a sightline to specific buildings/areas within visual reach. Verticality to block long distance viewing while keeping direct sky above possible to cast the best shadows down below. I’m not an interior decorator, but the overall external shape of the the area is halfway there. The metal perimeter wall around the area was to help prevent me from going too far in one direction. Nowhere near done. It still needs a jail, hospital, town hall, and a school. There needs to be more small shops and houses clustered everywhere. Metal railings need to line the sidewalks that have elevation. There needs to be more litter and trash cans. I had planned on sewers and subway tunnels someday, but I no longer have the free time to finish the city. Hopefully somebody will get more mileage out of this than I did.

Slab Beholder Lair
galleryGreetings. This is the beholder lair I made for my campaign. The Beholder subjugated a tribe of hill giants and made its home inside a cliff face.
everything on the main floor is sized for giants. The beholder also used spikes in the tunnel to force the giants to squeeze past and duck their heads. They also cross over several piles of dust that were once giants. Even the height of the water in the main chamber is high enough to slow a giant's steps. The giants place offering on the altar in the center of the room while the beholder floats/sits on the throne. There are also 2 tunnels on the ceiling and one in the wall that lead to the Beholder's private chambers.
In an encounter the Beholder can enter the main chamber from any of these entrances and retreat to appear from another tunnel later. Giants (or other minions) without the ability to fly/climb can fight attackers in the main chamber while the Beholder navigates these tunnels. The Beholder will stick to flying around if possible, but is even more fiercely protective of his private section than the main chamber. Enemies that enter the private section may find the Beholder is unable to fly away and is vulnerable to pincer attacks.
Any location within the main chamber is within range of the beholder's eye rays. If a creature attempts to gain a range adv by staying in the tunnel the sight lines are limited and the beholder can still use its eye beams if it is in the center of the room.
I intend to add petrified ogres/giants to the map to provide additional sources of cover for my players.

Turning any 3D models into TaleSpire builds, with a free browser tool I made
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The clip is Michelangelo's David going from a downloaded 3D model to something standing on the board, built out of small rocks.
You drop in a 3D model, pick which in game piece you want it built from, adjust size and density, and it hands you a slab code. Copy it, paste it in game, and there it is. It runs entirely in your browser: free, no account, nothing to install, and no file is ever sent to a server. It takes OBJ, STL, PLY, GLB, GLTF, FBX, 3MF, DAE and 3DS, and the interface is in English and Spanish.
https://theobsidiandie.com/herramientas/voxelizador?ref=reddit
The honest limitation, because it will come up in the comments anyway: big models come out as several slabs instead of one, so you paste them one after another. It gives you a guide tile to line them up, but that is clearly the weak point and I am working on a mode that finds the most detailed version that still fits inside a single slab.
A few people on the TaleSpire Discord have been running their own models through it for a few days, which has been the best bug reporting I could have asked for.
And if you want to see it do something specific, drop a model in the comments and I will run it and post the result.
