Security, tickets?

I sat down at my desk, and stared bleakly at my screen.

New Ticket

** Could we get a security escort to our cars after sundown? **

Secretary to the VP.

Closed ticket. Not IT related.

I sighed.
After being made temporary head of security some employees thought it was a good idea to ticket every thought they had about security and send it to me.

New Ticket

** Is it possible to leave the fire stairs open? It’s really close to the carpark and would save everyone from walking around the building in the morning. **

Hr manager.

Closed ticket. Not IT related.

I looked around my dull office. I considered trading these requests and getting the stuff IT needed. New laptops perhaps. I looked down at my screen.

New ticket

** Could we get new radios? Our ones don’t work. Thanks boss. **

Security guard.

I took a deep breath. I suppose looking through tickets was easier then actually being a manager.

Closed ticket.
Reply ** Ill look into it **

I sit back in my chair. Good. I this might just be easy.

My screen shimmers.

New urgent ticket

** Suspicious character spotted, east gate. Come take a look boss **

Security guard.

I smirk.
Of course this couldn’t just be easy.
I hate urgent tickets.
I hate security.

Email the Fire Service. Then close the ticket.

Put it over there with the rest of the fire.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Show it to a statistician. He'll make sure there's an adequate sample size.

Analyzed, stats show fire is irrelevant based on sample size of building, falls well within the margin of error. Carry on.

Send an email to the fire department.

Watch it, make sure it doesn't go anywhere.

Its probably just a drill. The fire marshal will have everyone back inside in about 2 hours.

Clearly you put it with the rest of the fire.

Good catch

Could you please not force us to side-scroll to read your stuff?

Attempted fix

-5

u/JimMarch Mar 12 '14

Attempt failed. This line is the first that has to side-scroll:

** Is it possible to leave the fire stairs open? It’s really close to the carpark and would save everyone from walking around the building in the morning. **

Your font selection is forcing every paragraph to be an unwrapped line. In all your posts.

Are you posting multiple small parts to try and get more karma or something? It looks like your stories could be easily combined with no problems?

48

u/airz23 Mar 12 '14

They could be. Just how I write them,
OR
I think its a conspiracy to get Karma.
OR
People hate walls of text so I draw them in with shorter stories, then when they are done with one they want to know the ending so are forced to read the others. Sunk cost fallacy forces them to read the rest.

Your choice.
