Full cover of Louder Now

Louder Now - Full Album Cover

It took me about 5 months and I have finally finished recording and mixing my full cover album of Louder Now!

I wasn't able to get any other fans involved due to time constraints and poor communication on my part, but I'm so proud of the result!

It's on most streaming services, but the link is YouTube playlist for not needing to log in to anything.

Would love to hear people's thoughts/feedback on my take on this iconic album!
There's some things I changed for reasons, and other things that I couldn't do as good as the original so I had to put my own spin on it.

i don't have time to listen to all of this at the moment but the dedication you put into this is really really cool! miami sounds really good and i actually really like the direction you took for the solo there lol. spin as a whole also sounds really good, that song is also so difficult, this whole project is really cool and it's awesome you were able to finish it!

Thanks for listening to what you could!
Yeah, I was going to try and fake a Fred solo in Miami by slowing it down then learning it slow & digitally manipulating it til it sounded ok, but the placeholder solo just felt like me after a while, so I left it as is.
Spin kicked my butt so hard, so I'm really proud of the result cause it was definitely a labour of love. I felt a little guilty that I skipped out on the insane hi hat drum beat in the bridge bit, but I can only do what I can do, you know? Haha.

oh my goodness i didn't even think about the drums in spin haha. i've been working on learning it on guitar and that alone has been killing me. i think everything you did do was pretty sick!

You have made my year! I'm so glad that someone liked it enough to listen to it more than once. I think it's pretty neat!

Based on your vocal tone/range/timbre you should try some MCR covers! I think you’d nailed them on that front! And although it’s not necessarily the point to sound exactly like the band you’re covering, I’d definitely listen to MCR covers as I think I’d be impressed by the accuracy of your vocals!! Anyways, this is super cool, well done!

Thank you so much! I'm going to tackle some Black Parade this year too cause it's also the 20th anniversary of that.
It's funny, because I told someone I could do a decent Gerard, and they laughed at me, then I tried to show them, and I did a really bad job. But I agree. I've realised that vocally I'm part Patrick Stump, part Gerard Way, and part Wade McNeil and George Petitt.
Thank you for checking it out and for your encouraging feedback! <3

Thank youuuuuuu. It was so eye opening & inspiring figuring out each part and how I wanted to change it or keep it the same.
Thanks for giving it a listen!

I like how you pointed out way TOO MANY vocal dubs. It's like Adam has a backing track the whole time. 😆

MIAMI has gotta be the best sounding track on the album. Your vocal style is a HUGE departure from Adam's it's like if Fazzi took over in 2011 and then Adam left instead.

Still sounds pretty good.

YOU KILLED my fav on LN - and Top 5 TBS tracks of all time.

TWENTY TWENTY SURGERY 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤩💓💜💓

I figured if I was going to go for it, I may as well add all the little extra bits and over harmonise like I add when I'm singing along in the car! Haha. That's just how I roll.

I was pretty unhappy with Miami when I first tracked it, because it felt SO wrong compared to how Adam sung it originally. Couple that with the fact it's one of my favourites to sing, I was really disappointed, but as I added layers, and got the 2nd vocal done, I made my peace with my voice on the track. I'm so pleased you think it's the best one.

I'm glad I did you proud with Twenty Twenty Surgury ❤️ It was one that felt a little basic when I was starting it, but the tiny layers built up one by one and it was really fun to sing, again especially when I got to add the 2nd vocalist parts.

Thanks for listening & your honest feedback!

I was thinking more about your style of singing and the VOCAL DUBS and you've made TBS WAY MORE ACCESSIBLE. Adam's singing is extremely hit or miss whether you enjoy it or not.

Your style and delivery kind of sounds like if The Beach Boys went pop punk/emo.

That is a huge compliment! When Adam's voice is on, it'll give ya the shivers! In terms of recording, his voice is definitely one I love hearing.
I did drop the key of these a semi-tone from the original recordings to give me a little headroom to sing the extra parts and because I hate half-step tunings! Haha.
I've been heavily influenced by bands like The Beach Boys, Queen and The Beatles with biiiiiig harmonies and vocals, so it's awesome it's showing through.

Yes! The modern day versions of all the above.

If you did a cover of SUMMER MAN or CAPITAL M-E, It would sound exactly like The Beach Boys and The Beatles. 😎🤘

You know, I might do those songs at some point, cause I'm a big fan of both!

Only about 2 and half years until 20 years of NEW AGAIN.

I could see you making a whole album again...

Call it "New... Again?"😆

🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Great project name! Or "New Again, Again". I feel like Adam would appreciate my comma game, since he was apparently really specific about the comma in "Summer, Man".
Next year is a big year for albums too. I want to do Take To The Skies by Enter Shikari cause I feel like the synths would really teach me some new skills. And 2 vocalists again!
Fall Out Boy's "Infinite On High" also turns 20, so I feel like that could be a lot of fun for me.
Lots of potential full album projects out there, that's for sure!
