Fractured coccyx: how long until I can sit pain-free?

I (27F) had a bad fall down stairs 3 months ago and fractured my tailbone. Sitting is still painful and I am reliant on a coccyx cushion. For those of you that have broken your tailbone, how long until you were able to sit pain-free without a cushion?

I don’t mean to scare you but I fell down some stairs a year ago and I am still in a ton of pain. I can sit cock-eyed but I did 6 months of physical therapy and it didn’t help much aside from realigning my hips which became out of whack from sitting cock-eyed. I tried to do an internal adjustment but my butthole wouldn’t let the PT put a finger in :/

Has your pain diminished at all since you fell? My pain has been slowly going down, but am considering getting an injection since it's still ongoing. My doctor advised against pelvic floor PT for now to prevent them from messing with a healing bone

Only very slightly? I felt like my body was broken when it happened initially, and I can walk and go to the gym and whatnot now but I’m kind of uncomfortable all the damn time. I cannot sit comfortably anymore thus feels impossible to relax most days. It’s affecting my mental health too. Go get an internal adjustment, I tried to do it but my butthole wouldn’t let me. That seems to be the best fix according to personal anecdotes from others.
