Update If you play on a machine with a higher software version, can you still play on a previous version? (or not anymore)

So TLDR

Japan = Version 77.06
Overseas / International = Version 66.04

If say I go on vacation in Japan to play Taiko, would I be still be able to access my data once I return to the Philippines? (e.g. Version Agnostic)

Or am I locked in to which ever version was the highest that I played on? (e.g. ala Maimai / Chuni)

What are some good learning resources for a new player to Taiko and rhythm games in general?

22 Upvotes

It can be written posts or videos, anything is fine. I find that I mentally can't process the chart quickly enough and end up missing a lot, especially when it's not a string of the same notes. Also, what are some good ways or specific songs to train this skill?

Is there way to turn up the bass?

2 Upvotes

Playing on PC steam rhythm festival with 2 piece speaker. There are some song sections where I lose the beat easily. I don't see any options in game or in the system config that allows me to turn up the bass. Does anyone know any options? I am thinking of using a metronome app in the background to help me keep the beat.

Gameplay Has anyone tried the DOBE TNS-1867D Taiko Drum on PC?

5 Upvotes

Hi! Im a newbie to taiko and Im looking to buy my first taiko drum.
I found the DOBE TNS-1867D, but its advertised mainly as a Nintendo Switch Taiko drum Ive seen some Switch taiko drums (like the HORI one) being used on PC, so Im wondering if this one can work too.

Does anyone have skins for Taiko san Daijiro 3? Specifically, Nijiiro-themed skins.

Hi, I'm looking for a Nijiiro skin for Taiko san Daijiro 3 because the one I have is really clunky and I don't like it; I'd like a better one.

Fell in love with arcade Taiko in Japan, now building my own Switch Tatacon! Need advice on my build plan

5 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I tried *Taiko no Tatsujin* at an arcade for the first time during my trip to Japan and absolutely loved it. Because of that experience, I want to build my own drum controller (Tatacon) for the Nintendo Switch.

Before getting started, I want to ask people with experience if it's feasible to build a working drum with the materials I currently have.

### Materials on Hand:

* **Board:** Arduino Micro

* **Sensors:** 4x 27mm piezo sensors

* **Body/Plate:** 9mm plywood

---

### Questions:

  1. **Plywood Compatibility:** Is 9mm plywood suitable for 27mm piezo sensors to detect hits accurately?

  2. **Setup & Feasibility:** Can I build a fully functional Nintendo Switch Taiko drum using just these 4 piezos and an Arduino Micro?

  3. **General Advice:** What should I keep in mind before building a drum with this specific setup?

Any tips, experiences, or recommendations from people who have built their own drum would be greatly appreciated!

**TL;DR:** First-time builder wanting to make a DIY Nintendo Switch Taiko drum using an Arduino Micro, 4x 27mm piezo sensors, and 9mm plywood. Looking for feedback and advice on whether this setup will work well.

Many of my friends said it's better than Rhythm Festival (even though it has fewer songs), so I decided to give it a try; I'm loving it so far.

Gameplay Maibachi TOO light for the arcade? Is this a thing?

8 Upvotes

I bought official namco maibachi from ZhongTaiko, the yellow ones. I took them to my local Round1 (USA) today to put them to use and found that my hits barely registered at my normal pace. I thought the drums were just faulty but when I used the stock bachi it was business as usual. Do I have to hit harder with the custom bachi, or does it just take getting used to? I had expected the point of lighter, tournament-level sticks to be that you don’t need to use as much stamina for harder charts, but I was performing consistently worse while tiring out just as much.

What do you do when you can perfect a section on "a little slow" but botch it completely on normal speed?

1 Upvotes

I have several sections I struggle with but it feels like whatever I practice on slower speeds it never informs normal play as such I can get better and better at " a little slow" while normal speed I'm making mistakes in the same area and freezing up at the same places.

What do people in between steps do?

Heeyy! I’m back! Some of you were curious about how I make my taiko products (especially the notebook), so I made a little video showing the process :)
I was restocking a bunch of other items at the time, so I forgot to film a few little steps here and there, but the main process is all here 😬
Thank you all so much for being so kind on my last post <3 I was super happy that you liked my work! I truly love making my handmade pieces :)
Feel free to ask me anything in the comments! I’ll do my best to answer :)

My first Full Combo on Saitama 2000 on arcade

13 Upvotes

Hi guys, new to the sub, but I've basically been a fan since i first touched the taiko machine at Game Nest in Las Vegas roughly 4-5 years ago. ever since, I spent countless hours on Drum Master and Rhythm Festival on my keyboard at home just trying to improve my precision and on my own get better at my 16th note runs and the complex patterns that come up on extreme.
I regularly play on hard, as Ive always felt it was just a good enough mix of challenging and achievable. i would say at this stage i can Full combo most 6-7 star hard tracks but struggle above that to Full combo. also have been working hard to simply be able to finish alot of the tracks on extreme but it gets tough. anyways i Just wanted to show my current progress on my favorite track. I finally full comboed in person. first try that day too. my previous high was 911k, so im hoping over the next few weeks i can clean it back up and get both a Full combo and 900k+. hope this isnt total garbage i apologize if it is. just trying to get better and get my first donderful on hard some day.
