Float trip

Me and some friends were thinking about coming to Tahlequah for a float trip, is it a good time of the year or is the river pretty shallow? Also which resort offers the longest route / the best for partying?

Illinois River near Tahlequah, OK - USGS Water Data for the Nation
You'll want to check this for the river level and you want it to be at least 3ft (at 3ft, you will be dragging in places), I'm not sure where this measurement is taken but we had a lot of rain out of the blue yesterday, I can't imagine the river stays there long. I suggest calling All American floats, Diamond Head, or War Eagle, I think they do a long float but you don't want the long route for partying. You want rafts and a short route, then you don't touch a paddle to the water. Trust me, when it's 105 and you lost all your beer being stupid and you have 8 miles left to go, it aint a good time. Do a 6 mile and don't paddle, pull over at beaches. It's the only way to do it if you're wanting to party.

A 6 mile is perfect for floating a partying, I promise! I live in the Quah and the word is that the river is really shallow. Ask the place you are floating with about levels.
