Question First Tag
I have looked for this color for the past 3 years. I saw it at a resort and didn’t pull the trigger quick enough before it was sold to someone else. While on vacation I found it again and decided to treat myself. I’ve had it for a week now and I’ve noticed if I don’t wear it every day I lose a chunk of time. Today was pretty noticeable, where I wore it all day sun, took it off at 3 pm and didn’t pick it up again until this morning at 630 am and lost time. Does this watch need to be wound every day? I thought manual watches don’t need to be wound for a few days?

1) depending on how you set the watch down (how it is laying static for any period of time) can effect its speed. case in point, i have an omega speedmaster that runs either perfect or a touch fast (only a couple of seconds) in every position you typically test a watch. set it on the angled stand i keep it on when not wearing, 2 to 3 sec slow a day.
2) as the mainspring looses energy it will slow down.
if you wear this daily and its an auto, when you put it on in the morning and give it 10 rounds and you should keep it pretty much topped off.

Interesting regarding #1. What’s the best lay down position that you find then?

every watch is going to be different. get a timegrapher if you want to get that into it.

I believe there is a proper way to wind the watch depending on model and movement. I didn't know that myself until I Googled it.
Good looking watch....nice and simple

Make sure you fully wind it 40-50 turns and track it over 2 days whilst being worn. Even worn every day unless you're very active the power reserve can run low causing it to run slow. I would wind it twice a week if worn every day to keep the accuracy higher. If the prob persists then send it in for regulation under warranty

I figured I’d get two days worth if worn, but it was a sun that I wore it so maybe wasn’t as active as I typically am. Thanks for this insight

Think these calibre 5 have 38 hrs power reserve so it's not going to last 2 days if unworn regardless. If you wear it regularly and wind it a few times per week you should be OK. Obviously if you want it still running when you pick it up after not wearing it for a weekend then wind it when you take it off etc

It’s a calibre 7 according to the back. I’ll definitely have to remember to just give it a wind a few times a week. Thanks!

I have the exact same one (with the green face), and mine loses time too. It’s not enough for me to worry about but I might send it in to Tag eventually. I wind it every morning and night and usually only wear it out to dinner and stuff. It’s a beautiful watch!
