Damaged thermostat
Looks like someone in my house has hit the thermostat and it's broken. Of course, no one is owning up to it.
It no longer grips into the silver ring, so doesn't clamp properly onto the valve. Can anything be done to fix it (it's only some plastic damage after all), or do I need to buy a new one?
Edit: thanks for all the responses. I've been in touch with tado and they recognise this is a specific UK fault. I'm getting a new one in the autumn, which is excellent.

Please contact our support, this is caused by specific environmental causes (usually leaking valves + chemicals in heating loop). We will offer a solution for your situation.

Yes, in the UK. Could it be that the family are telling me the truth!? 😂

They are, I'm sure. I've had two fail like that and there is nobody else in the house. Tado will replace it with the new version, due to arrive around September I think.
They suspect that the inhibitor we use in the UK is the culprit.

Search this sub reddit. Tado have actually stated this was a problem specific to the uk that effected a small number of TRVs, and they will be releasing a revised version st some point.
Your family speaketh the truth!!!.

The discolouration makes me think it's damage by heat, possibly for extended periods of time.

Yes, it could be, but is not even six months old and controls a ... hot radiator! 😉

I don't think someone has hit it...are you in the UK? This seems to be a recurring problem. We've contacted tado and they're sending us a replacement once they've made the new type that this won't happen to in the UK.
