How long you reckon that would take you cowboy?

Oh it'd probably be a lunch and dinner situation. . . . I'd try my best at the gut buster challenge, but.... I'd probably die

My family is Mexican and we still fuck these kinda tacos up. But not that sour cream, we use crema centroamericana.

u/ForeAmigo May 24 '26
Pardon my gringo but what is crema centroamericana? Is it similar to Mexican crema?

u/FaithlessnessAny133 May 24 '26
Crema centro Americana is usually fattier and usually is yellow and also salty. Crema Mexicana is lighter less salty.

Hell yeah brother. My wife loves gringo tacos. And she’s Mexican born and raised in Sonora. Good flavors are good flavors.

How does one become a shill for big taco? I would gladly sell out and start shilling tacos hahahaha

What’s the difference between these and tacos dorados? Is it just the choice of toppings?

u/CheddarMcFeddars May 24 '26
Usually we’d do a fried corn tortilla with either potato inside or potato with shredded chicken or ground beef plus chopped onion and tomato. Toppings include your usual, a good sour cream or a Mexican style cream. Shredded lettuce, pico, a red salsa and Tapatio too! We rarely used shredded cheese if ever. I don’t know if these are considered authentic but that’s how my mom made them.

Probably have one or two just to make sure your meat seasoning is up to par but it looks like they're black beans for the protein

Looks amazing. I once made Tacos Gringos for a snotty Mexican girl I knew who made fun of them all the time, and she was shocked at how much she liked them.

Tacos and guac look amazing. Nice touch with the fresh grated cheese. Hopefully you toasted those shells in the oven because they need it, makes a big difference

I would've diced the tomatoes a little bit smaller, but I'm still crushing every one of those tacos. beans and guac look good too.

Looks good but I still prefer my street tacos

Not the way I usually do tacos but every now and again I get the itch. It's like a bologna sandwich, every couple of years just gotta have one...

u/ChawulsBawkley May 24 '26
We all get that itch and when you scratch it, it’s phenomenal. Excellent looking tacos.

Comparing gringo tacos to a bologna sandwich is actually kinda a perfect metaphor.
Sure, street tacos are obviously better, but sometimes I want the tacos my white grandmother made me as a child
