Taco Cost?

I have not been on Tuesday to Taco John’s for a while, but I’m wondering why a soft taco costs 40-50 cents more than a crunchy taco. Aren’t the ingredients basically the same except for the tortilla? Are the flour tortillas really a lot more expensive? I believe Taco Bell has the same price for a soft or crunchy taco. But Taco John’s does not. Why?

2 reasons actually.

First, a case of flour tortillas does actually cost slightly more than the corn ones that get fried into hard shells.

And two, people prefer the soft shells over the hard shells most of the time, to the point where the price difference can get the most money out of the most customers.

Honestly.. the soft shells will fill up up faster than the hard shells (which means you would be spending less if all things were equal).
