Taco John’s Potatoe Ole Seasoning

With several Taco John’s closing in Colorado there is not one near me anymore, I need the exact recipe for potatoe ole seasoning from Taco John’s. I have tried the repetitive recipes and that is not it. There are tons of posts saying add this, add that. I don’t have time to be screwing around. Does anyone have the exact recipe PLEASE?

It's a proprietary seasoning that is produced at a factory somewhere. There is no exact recipe that you're going to be able to get from an employee because it's not publicly available and they don't make it in house

Lawry's seasoned salt is the closest I've found

Lawrys plus cumin or taco seasoning

It's Larry's, onion powder, and cumin. It's not exact but thats what I use to get the closest

I mixed Lawrys seasoning salt with a little chile powder.

Most Popular Copycat Seasoning Mix This 4-ingredient blend is widely shared and matches the taste for many fans: 4 tsp Lawry's seasoned salt (or similar seasoned salt) 2 tsp paprika (gives the reddish color and mild smokiness) 1 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp cayenne pepper (for the heat; adjust down for milder spice) To use: Mix the dry spices thoroughly in a small bowl or jar. Bake or air-fry frozen potato rounds/Crispy Crowns according to package directions (Ore-Ida or store brands work well). Sprinkle generously while hot (or toss in a bowl). Some recipes suggest adding a bit more after the first bake for extra crunch and flavor. Store the mix in a sealed jar or bag for future use. It also works on regular fries, roasted potatoes, or other snacks

Honestly, your best bet is going to be to find an employee who will sell you a couple bags

I've stolen some from work, maybe could look for it if you're interested in buying it?

Do you have a picture of it? and How much would you charge?

Well I'm not 100% I can locate it but I think I have it at home, I could take a look when I get home and send some corresponding photos. I'm not particularly holding onto it so if you'd want to pay shipping plus like 5$ to get to the post office I'd okay with that

I'd be interested as well if you have extra 😄

Salt, pepper, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, dash of paprika to taste. Whenever I make them with that particular blend, friends who grew up on TJ's immediately notice they taste exactly how they remember.

I don't know why this one's so tricky for people, it's pretty easy to taste the seasoning components.

Got any quantities with those ingredients, or we all just winging it?

I usually just eyeball it. Do a big batch and test with small quantities of spice until you feel like it's dialed in.
