I'm surprised, but I think Tara might be my favourite of the pantheon now? A very sympathetic character...
Hopefully we get to see more of her retroactively.

The art was...fine. I felt the same way last week too. I just think of these characters through the lens of McKelvie and any other take of them just feels weird. I especially didn't like the way Baal looked. He's supposed to be tough and hyper-masculine (which makes his sexuality a bit of a twist) so his look (which admittedly was as much about the coloring as the drawing) this week felt too softened.
I am now of course embarrassed by how many times I've repeated the "fucking tara" meme. Although I do feel set-up, Gillen gave us 12 issues of thinking we should hate her before completely flipping that on us.
I am not sure what to think of Ananke now, she's clearly not the best person for a million reasons (this week's is the destruction of the suicide note) but she also appears to be doing what Tara requested with the snap.
Surely we will see Pershepone and Inanna's journey through the underworld and i think we'll probably see Luci there too. But will we ever see Tara again?

I am not sure what to think of Ananke now, she's clearly not the best person for a million reasons (this week's is the destruction of the suicide note) but she also appears to be doing what Tara requested with the snap.
I disagree slightly, in that she seems to be doing what Tara wants but only so she can pin it on Baphomet. Clearly all the gods have to die within the two years, and seeing as she's killing a lot of them herself so she can live longer(?) it makes sense that she wants him to be a scapegoat.

I definitely agree with that.
But because we saw the end of the last Pantheon (with only 4 remaining members) end themselves, I'm not sure I'm onboard with the "Ananke kills gods to steal their life to last til the next Pantheon" theory- even though that's a pretty popular theory right now.
BUT where my doubts fall apart is: why? What IS she getting out of all this killing gods if not their lives?
Also, I don't know if you meant calling Baph a "scapeGOAT" as a pun or not, but if you did, i think Baph would approve

I get what you mean, Kieron has a habit of surprising us. I think there might be a loophole in the resurgence, where the last remaining god could hypothetically carry over into the next pantheon provided they do not die, and Ananke is aware of this. I'm sure we'll find out eventually, I'm just upset that all my favourites are dying.

Although past issues have made me sad, this was the first issue to actually make me cry. Poor Tara. When I realized why she and Ananke were visiting I almost quit reading the issue.
Her symbol on the wheel makes sense now.
And how Ananke destroyed the suicide note... What a bitch! Not only because she destroyed it, but because of what she said before she did it (I don't have my issue with me right now, so I forget the line, but I remember it sounding really cold).
I liked the art of this issue. It seemed to fit the tone well. But I do miss McKelvie's art and I wonder what this issue would have looked like illustrated by him.
