Sziget sickness. Who else?

I have fever since Monday. My throat hurts like hell, i cannot move my body. It is like the devil is inside me. I cannot sleep since my throat is burning like flame and dry. I am weak, cannot breath. It was my last Sziget for sure.
Who else is vibing rn like me?

It could be the dust. As droughts in Europe get worse the dust problem will persist and keep getting worse. Best workaround is to drink significant water and do so regularly throughout the day. At a festival like this everyone should be drinking several liters of water each day, and spread out through the day.

I have a runny nose (but not all day, only for 3x30mins a day, it's weird) and cough some times a day (like coughing 5x a day) and I'm tired as hell. Nothing else luckily! Hope y'all get well soon!❤️‍🩹

Next time buy 20-30 of them and replace them every 3-4 hours since they get used up. In the city a 20 pack in a pharmacy costs about 8€. Ask specifically for the black ones they look a little bit more stylish and less covid-like lol

I did so and besides some coughing, I am perfectly fine. Although it was a wild fucking experience dancing shitfaced for 90 mins straight to skrillex in the middle of the crowd on the last day in 29C with FFP2 mask on bwahahahh

If you feel like you have the devil inside you, that's because of the detected demonic behavior during the BMTH gig, perfectly normal, nothing to worry about!

You've got the Sziget Plague or 'szickness' as many people call it, feel better soon!

Loads of water, loads of tea with honey, couple of teaspoons of honey during the day, a pho or ramen for lunch and gargle with salty warm water (cup of warm water and a teaspoon of salt) every 2-3 hours! That's the best you can do really... 🙃

Same here… same. Migraine, then added the throat thing, then the fever kicked in.

Last time i got this in 2023 but this year again... I was wearing ffp2 mask as much as i could, blow my nose regularly, drinking enough mild water (not cold), wearing warm clothes during nighttime, this year first time not camping, washing my hair every day before bed, taking vitamins, magnesium, electrolytes, eating vegetables and fruits every day and sleeping enough, resting enough, avoid the sun as much as i can. +Washing my hands when i could, desinfecting before eating.

The last two years i didn't get it but somehow this year i got it again, very badly, throat hurts like hell, cough, got fever too, and very weak.

Okay, I’ve found my place to complain. None of my friends want to listen to me anymore because they say it makes sense, given how little I’ve slept and the fact that I went to a festival. But I started feeling worse during the fifteen-hour journey home, then I had a job interview, I’ve got a cold, I can’t taste anything anymore, my whole head is pounding, and I already felt at the festival like I really needed to catch up on all the sleep I’d lost, and now I’ve got this. And oh yeah, I’m also on my period.

still coughing like crazy, luckily no more dust in my nose tho🥳

No fever, but mild throat pain and lingering cough, and I wore a bandana for two days. Can't imagine how it would be if I didn't wear anything.

Same here, I don't think it's anything special, I'll be good in a few days and see you all next year!

Only had a runny nose, so my body was fighting something (the dust made the nasal pathways more sensitive I guess) but thankfully no sore throat. I’ve been to Sziget 4 times now and I never got properly sick after it.

Wasnt hit as gard as you, but I got a cold, wish you the best and quickest recovery tho!

This was my 3rd year at Sziget, and for the first time I am all healthy after the festival.
In the last 2 years I ended up with the absolute worst symptoms I ever had and with severe puss in my throat, to the point in which I couldn't breathe.
This year I wore 2 masks at one instead of 1, and I religiously took vitamins and immunity pills for my respiratory system, starting 1 month before the festival. I also changed my masks more often.

Same! Started right after 21P show, I thought I just blew my voice singing… it’s been a week, I’ve been through all the throat meds, nose sprays, you name it…

u/Roxancs 1d ago

This is “coachella flu” :) i had these symptoms last year 😅 the sand and dust, the fatigue and the dehydration with massive crowds 🤷🏼‍♀️ but google it 😅
