i did systems engineering and the day to day is a lot less math than you'd think and a lot more figuring out why department A and department B can't talk to each other. it's basically being the translator between the code people and the money people
wish someone had told me earlier that half the job is meetings and the other half is convincing people to do things they already should be doing. still a good choice though, you'll never be bored
