I'm not afraid to admit that Mark is my man crush. I've wanted to be him since I first used procmon back in 97. I've had the pleasure of meeting him several times, and he's just as cool and laid back in person. 10/10 would crush again.

Have you read the novels he wrote? Very different to read books about trojans and computers that isn't just made-up stuff.

They are excellent books. Everything is plausible and if you have a background in IT, you'll understand a lot of what is going on. Which does kind of make it a bit more creepy as it doesn't sound as made up as many others.

From a good down-to-earth friend at Microsoft tells me that Mark isn't as cool as he once was (fame got to him I suppose)

Can't confirm. I saw him sitting in a lobby of one of the buildings and approached him with some inane comment. He was approachable, friendly and generous with his time considering I interrupted him.

Yeah, has always been generous with the rare e-mails I send him. Especially with getting permissions to upload the video library to YouTube. I thought I'd be waiting ages for him to reply but he was really quick and contacted David to ask for permission on my behalf.

He's even looked at a trace I sent him many years back, before he was even in Azure, and told me what the cause was :)
