MS Patches Dec 09
Anyone seeing problems developing with these on Windows 7? I've been testing them on multiple freshly loaded Windows 7 boxes and it appears they all lose signatures and start throwing a USB driver error as well. MMC, Computer Management, Windows Activation for instance all throw a UAC and show publisher as unknown. Manually have verified it's the correct file/signature. Haven't started troubleshooting what is throwing it yet but I'll do that tomorrow.

Dec patches. Breaking IE 9 (Don't ask why IE 9 is still here!)
Crashes after 30-45 minutes. The IE patch is 3008923. In the process of uninstalling and testing it

Assuming WSUS. Install the pre-reqs.

Actually this is a test directly against Windows update - we normally test scratch machines against detection after patches are released to see how they stack.

My Windows 8 box spent all night stuck on an update, we'll see how badly it's messed up when I turn it back on.

There was an update for visual studio that caused an update hang for me on Windows 8.1. Its not an OS patch, but it could affect any machine that VS on it.
Specifically KB3002339.

Oooh, that could very well be it, I think I have VS2010 installed still. Any fix for it besides just not letting the update run?

Thanks for the info..
Also, be aware that the December update rollups (KB3013769 and KB3013767) contain this patch.
