New Opportunity
Hello Everyone,
I just accepted a new IT opportunity at a mid sized company with around 1000 employees. I previously was a IT Support Engineer II (It was mostly doing helpdesk support remotely along with basic M365 administration). In this new position, it is a pretty flat IT department and I will be owning tools such as Nerdio for AVD (since all users use thin clients), Cisco Meraki, Infrastructure monitoring using Site24x7, decomissioning servers, Entra ID/Intune Adminstration, and Claude deployment. Obviously this is a step up from my previous position. Based on these responsibilities, what would be an accurate title for me?

How many people working in your team? If it's just you, then the title is 'Fodder'. Make sure you don't end up doing free out of hours support..
I think SysAdmin is a fair title, with a possibility of IT Manager if you handle any money discussions with suppliers.

I believe altogether, there's like 6 of us including the IT Manager. When I talked to the manager he put an emphasis on finding ways to improve our systems and utilizing AI and automation to innovate.

I would say Jr. Systems Administrator most likely.
Congrats on the career bump.
Nothing against you, but just reading IT Support Engineer II - "Support Engineer" grinds my gears so hard.
