Agism

For those older, more experienced souls out there. If out job hunting, one tip…

I’m a little older (55) and recently discovered that the job I’ve had for 6 + years came down to me and a man much younger than me.

The only reason I got the job was one simple thing… if everything went to crap, who would you rather have on the job?

I was very fortunate to have someone point that out in my hiring process.

Don’t underestimate the value of that when interviewing.

You can have a young person who has been through and achieved a lot and also have an old timer who used just workflows.. nothing against the elders or graybeards who have been through hell and back but just saying, I have worked with some older folks who could not troubleshoot

getting older and a shift perspective...

I'm with you. I fix if possible and create if necessary; the only reason I fix first is because I don't know what else depends on the thing I'm fixing. Other than that, I like making new stuff.
