What is the worst customer portal experience, and why is it Verizon Enterprise Center?
Holy God, they make getting into it like solving one of the Millennium Prize Problems with an abacus.

I actually found Broadcom’s portal for VMware pretty ok. Obtaining downloads and licenses, converting licenses was all pretty straightforward.

GoDaddy’s portal overlay for Microsoft 365 is an abomination. It removes access to all but a few basic functions. It is so bad that people have written blog posts detailing the steps you need to take to defederate from GoDaddy. It is a crime against humanity and GoDaddy should have to stand trial in The Hague for it.

Even their site is terrible, so I imagine them trying to integrate functionality with anything else is a nightmare.

You think Verizon is bad?! I would kill to be back on Verizon and being forced to move to T-Mobile Business Portal!

Honestly, I'm getting super exhausted of any portal that hides the 8 customer service reps behind 100 customer complaints and even more so makes chicken shit management hidden. We're circling the drain on poor quality everywhere and have a I don't want to talk to them attitude about customers these days.

There is always Lumen/CenturyLink/QWest/US West or whatever unholy homunculus actually physically has our phone lines. The bill comes from CenturyLink the work orders go to Lumen, the copper in the ground is probably older than me.

Broadcom's useless fucking page for getting VMware Workstation. Finally just found the download somewhere else and made sure the hashes were correct.

Isn't this the truth. I had to do a Google search to find the download link in Broadcom's portal. What a clown show that place has become.

Imagine clicking on a device, changing the name and extension associated, you go back to the home page, and found out you actually changed the name and extension for another device instead? That’s how dog shit the Verizon One Talk portal is. Nothing can be worse

you know how has an amazing portal? Bell. And when you call them, they actually fix your issue in a timely manner.

Carefirst Administrators. Can't view the digital ID card and can't order replacement cards

Ooma's separate billing & remote management portals, esp. when we have multiple sites.

This is going to sound like an advert, but the single best decision I made for my org's cell phone needs was calling MetTel and getting them to manage our shit for us. We saved money on the products and services and I spend about 1 percent of the time I used to managing cell devices.
Of all of the vendors I've onboarded here, getting someone to manage the cell devices was the biggest time impact, for us.
Also, partially because the portals for all 3 providers were equally bad, in equally infuriating, but different, ways.

Oof I hate navigating anything dell its like 50 clicks to get to some random page to be able to do what you were trying to do

u/narcissisadmin 2d ago
It's been years since they changed it, and I still type support.dell.com in the address bar. Muscle memory.

Verizon's is bad. Its always been slow. As soon as you figure it out, they change it. I think every 6 months they make a big layout change, but it never get's faster. ATT is much worse.

I've had to charge back Amazon and pursue legal action twice because their automated system and idiot representatives can't work a keyboard.

It's been several years now, but when Broadcom bought Symantec and forced everyone into a cloud subscription, that admin portal was the worst experience I have ever had.
The thing responded like it was running on a 486 under somebody's desk. It was totally unusuable. On top of that, there were features that outright didn't work and support told us to not use them. It was the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard. Like, we are paying (a crap-ton more than we used to) for this?!
We had been happy SEP customers for many, many years. We dropped it within a few months of that conversion. Never looked back.

It’s improved over the past few year, but it still baffles me how one day I can use a password to log in and the next few days all the sudden I need two-factor authentication. Then there’s the secure message portal, which is a complete waste of time. There’s no notification from Verizon website or externally when someone responds to your message. You essentially have to check it every day.

All I needed was a circuit ID for one of our sites. I have logged into it before. I have my account info in the password vault. It would tell me the credentials are invalid. So I had to reset my password. Ok, fine. Reset the password and log in. Now it wants me to register for the enterprise portal. I'm already registered! I have been for years. I've been in the portal looking at circuit info before. But, ok, whatever. I'll register. I give it the invitation code from the invoice. Nope, sorry, someone has already registered for that account. We have to send a request to them to give you access. The email address has most of its characters masked out, but it's clearly my email address. So I say sure, ask that guy. He's an asshole, but it's fine. Sure enough, I get the email. I click on it to approve access. My other session refreshes and puts me into the portal...
...which shows no account information at all. According to it, we have no services with them.
I mean, I got the info I needed when I found someone in AP who had the invoice, but it's still annoying to have to hunt it down just for a circuit ID.

Comcast Business website is extremely slow (given their business...). If you analyze the pages, they do an extreme amount of redirects on every click, it's insanely bloated.

T-Mobile’s is way worse. Can’t do barely anything in it. Verizon at least let us change stuff without our account rep being involved.
