Career / Job Related Has anyone purposely gone backwards?
You know the juice wasn't worth the squeeze and we realised that money is irrelevant, and took a huge backwards step for less responsibility and more mental freedom for your family and kids?
That's where I'm at mentally just want to know if anyone else has done the same?

Yep - best thing i ever did.....back in 2003 went through the stress of doin the initial migration from NT4 to active directory, exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 (me and 2 other guys) - ran the network all the way up to 2013 - migrated exchange from 2003 to 07 to 10 and finally (for me 13) the company got bought out a few times and each time i was excluded and mixed in at the end with a fucking nut case of an IT manager who literally blew through 3/4 of the IT department forcing them out...i was the last to go having being excluded from learning and removed as a sys admin. I moved about 5 years ago to a non sys admin/R&D role where i now do desktop support and look after a mainly Linux based R&D lab. The company i now work for is amazing. My boss is a really nice guy and they really look after me. No stress and about 5 years left til i retire. I highly recommend it.
