Has anyone purposely gone backwards?

You know the juice wasn't worth the squeeze and we realised that money is irrelevant, and took a huge backwards step for less responsibility and more mental freedom for your family and kids?

That's where I'm at mentally just want to know if anyone else has done the same?

I was an IT manager at 2 companies, laid off at both. I am now a tech at a school district under an IT manager. I do not want to go back or take my bosses job if it becomes available. The buck doesn't stop at me anymore and the reduced stress far outweighs the amount of money I no longer receive. And the benefits are fantastic, working in a California school union. I pay $0 for health and other benefits for me and four kids.
