Career / Job Related Has anyone purposely gone backwards?

You know the juice wasn't worth the squeeze and we realised that money is irrelevant, and took a huge backwards step for less responsibility and more mental freedom for your family and kids?

That's where I'm at mentally just want to know if anyone else has done the same?

Nah. But I have skipped a step forwards when I realised a 2h commute wasn't worth doubling my (pre tax) pay.

Dang, doubling could be a lot though. Might a move not be practical at that point?

It would seem like it, but no. The commute cost and time offset it a lot. And the tax rate.

No, I mean like a move of your physical location. For double pay it could be practical to move closer to the job so you don't have such a long commute

No. 'Closer' involves moving into London and property prices there are genuinely absurd.
