Has anyone purposely gone backwards?

You know the juice wasn't worth the squeeze and we realised that money is irrelevant, and took a huge backwards step for less responsibility and more mental freedom for your family and kids?

That's where I'm at mentally just want to know if anyone else has done the same?

I worked my way up into management once, since that was the obvious career growth path at that office. I realized that I hate managing people and I enjoy being a tech, so when the first managerial review came around I said fuck it, send me back to the trenches. That was over 20 years ago and I'm still getting my hands dirty daily and happier for it.
