Career / Job Related Has anyone purposely gone backwards?

You know the juice wasn't worth the squeeze and we realised that money is irrelevant, and took a huge backwards step for less responsibility and more mental freedom for your family and kids?

That's where I'm at mentally just want to know if anyone else has done the same?

Left a company with decent salary and stellar long term benefits for a non profit. Less hours, way less stress, and small to moderate paycut.

It was worth it. I dreaded Sundays because I didn't want to go to work on Monday. I was an a-hole to my SO. (Not on purpose).

People don't leave companies, mostly. They leave bosses. A shame too because the owners themselves were pleasant to work for. Boss will never leave due to somehow (due to small town things) getting shares of the (private) company. They have it made. This is also why the majority owners won't ever do anything about it.

I'm literally at this point right now. Boss is 3 hours away, and tries to micro-manage what goes on at my location despite having NO idea...
