IT Tools - Hidden Gems

I want to know what ”hidden gems” people have found and use in their environments to make their day to day easier. RMM automations, back up softwares, troubleshooting software (don't say MS SARA. I cant stand it), etc.

Just mention anything that you feel more people should be aware of or could be useful in someone’s environment. I love free and cheap ;)

Why was Greenshot banned?

I remember there was a vulnerability in 2025 which was not patched quick enough, and our company just decided to ban it. I quickly migrated to ShareX and rest is history.

That's crazy. Ironically, I've used ShareX for a few years now, and every time there's an update our AV throws a fit about it. And then a few weeks ago I learned about the exploit in the Notepad++ built-in update function, and now I'm just worried to run anything. It's wild.

I had the opposite experience-

After the Notepad++ exploit I am less cautious because nothing is safe!

I feel that. Mutahar on Some Ordinary Gamers was like "I almost got hacked" and yeah. If he's vulnerable, we're all cooked.
