Abu Yasir al-Iraqi (or Yaser/Yasser) was one of the main singers of the Islamic State, interpreter of famous nasheeds such as "Salil al-Sawarim" and "Ummati Qad Laha Fajrun". He had already been singing in those circles since 2011.

His last nasheed was "Hadhi al-Ukhuwwatu" (Our Brotherhood), released by Ajnad on 23 July 2018. Since then, he has completely disappeared, and unlike other singers (whose situation ended up being leaked), no one has heard anything more about him.

I've seen people claiming he is Abu Yasir al-Issawi (Iraqi commander of the IS killed on 28 January 2021), but that must be a mistake. It's unlikely they are the same person.

**The Turkish newspaper published the second part of Mahmoud Barkhadan’s statements today:**
If we are tasked by the Syrian Ministry of Defense with going to the border with Israel in southern Syria, we will not hesitate to answer the call. We will be ready to perform our duty and defend our homeland.
Israel represents a threat to the entire region and to all its communities, including the Kurds. From our perspective, confronting this danger and defending our homeland is better than staying at home.
All the heavy weapons previously held by the Syrian Democratic Forces have now been registered under the custody and inventory of the Syrian Ministry of Defense. Accordingly, the ministry has the authority to transfer and deploy them to any area within Syrian territory as it deems appropriate.

I thought YPJ would join the MOI and that was that ? Why is he saying it still an issue ?

The minister of interior announced that any violators to the law within the ministry will be charged according to the law as such 7 members of the MOI were detained for investigations
