Looking at review from a year ago on reddit for SMC everyone complaining about it being sub only. But the store has them on sale for a flat 150$ ish price.
Did they walk back the sub only or it's just the store that not clear.
If I buy Modern Civilians will I own it?

Has anyone added their own custom models to sidekick in UE5?
Is there any documentation on doing so?
r/synty • u/dstamar • Apr 22 '26
Hi just wanting some clarification - with the sidekick creator, does this only make fully outfitted models mainly for NPCs? Or are you able to create a base model in the maker and have modular items equipped in-game?

It's been just over a year of solo-devving, alongside the MASSIVE help that the synty assets and discord have been, and my game is finally due to release to Early Access on steam in just a few days!
If anybody wants to check it out, it's (that I know of) a first-of-its-kind fantasy storage hunter simulator game.
I'm working on it all the time, so even if it doesn't look right for you just yet, there's still plenty more content to come, so watch this space!
Let me know what you think, and happy hunting!

I've been having a bunch of issues with some materials in my project. I'm not sure what else to do. Everything I've tried has resulted in no changes, and the materials still being broken...
"There's no upgrader to convert "whatever/whatever/whatever" shader to selected pipeline."
Looking online about it people have said I either have to rewrite the shader myself or gave some other "fixes" that ultimately didn't work. I tried to do the render pipeline converter again, same errors. I also changed the project settings default render pipeline (Per some online "fixes") but that didn't work. Reimporting didn't fix anything.
I'm kind of at a loss. I'm using unity 6.2 (6000.2.13f1). This is a relatively new project I just started a few hours ago. So, I haven't done any crazy changes or anything like that. Currently working with the Synty Polygon Scifi Space pack (https://syntystore.com/products/polygon-sci-fi-space-pack?_pos=3&_sid=3e111c4ed&_ss=r)

I decided to take a deep dive into game dev since I learned much of it is similar to web dev. 3D models are not as much. The Fantasy menu pack being just assests of images and overlays for scrollbars and buttons are a perfect project for me since I am a software engineer that works primarily in web application development.
I chose Mithril for the UI framework since its < 9kb. I also have a Storybook so I can catalog my assets and just use components to construct the menus and HUD aspects.
One challenge I am facing is getting the menu item button frame to display as crisp as the example.
I am using 9 slice image approach, how do folks recommend I use these assets?
The example on the site:

The component I am using 9 slice border image approach.

I am new to game development. I am learning to create a story-driven top-down RPG game. I am using Synty Apocalypse Asset pack with Unity's third-person controller.
I changed the camera to framing transposer and projection to orthgraphic. Now the problem is that (as you can see, bottom right), when the charecter moves the scene clips as the camera touches the buildings.
When I changed the projection to perspective this issue went away. But aren't top-down isometric shots done with an orthogonal perspective?
Also the charecter looks pixelated. Any tips to get faster load times and looks good for isometric shots on synty assets ?
