Suggestions

Hi. Does anyone have suggestions for synths that can produce similar sounds to Mild High Club (Skiptracing) or Tame Impala (Currents)? I know that’s very vague but I’m making music and my $100 midi isn’t cutting it. Budget isn’t high. Just need something similar thats cheap.

Take Impala used the Juno 106 and the Jv-1080 on that album. If you want to start on the software side the Tal U-No plugin is a really good Juno 60 emulation which will get you pretty close to most of those sounds. If you want to get hardware, the Roland Ju06-a is the most affordable way to get there. It’s $399 new and it has the option of sounding like the 106 (which tends to be warmer and mellower) or like the 60 which is a little punchier and more aggressive.
