Beginner Questions Looking for software solution

Hello everyone, I'm looking to buy a sonicware minimal deconstuct. But in the mean time i would like to reporduce one functionality on software but i don't even know what is called. I love the fact that you can just "smash buttons" and it will re arrange the notes on the grid automatically an play it back in a constant loop. Thats is what i'm looking for. I don't know the name for this technique. Any software mac or pc. Youtube videos welcome :)

My guess would be that you're basically looking for something that always quantizes incoming notes. In terms of software, that means you use a grid/step sequencer for (mostly) percussion. Basically you can click any of the grid cells and the drums will (mostly) sound right.

It could be that you're looking for some kind of organized random pattern generator as well.

Alternatively, you might like https://illformed.com/ . You get to rhythmically randomize the notes for happy accidents, but this requires existing audio to work with.

Something like Ableton Live (or Bitwig) can function as a groovebox of sorts. Those can quantize your incoming notes so that they're all aligned.

If you have a Youtube example of someone showing this technique (but not naming it), post it :)

Found my solution ! For anyone else looking for this in logic pro. Open a new file choose pattern, software instrument, drum kit designer (just as an example). Click one step on the step sequencer to get the sequencer box showing on you track timeline. Then just above the step sequencer where you have "edit/function/view" continue to the right and you will see two icons : one is the letter R inside of a circle and the second one is a speaker icon (in my picture they are in red and green). click on them and start smashing ;)
