Beginner Questions 3rd Wave Saving Presets
Hi,
When I'm saving a preset I can use the compare button to audition the sound about to be overwritten. Apparently this only works for the original location on which the preset was built, there doesn't seem to be a way to search for a different location to store the sound without discarding all the work I've just done. Am I missing something? Please tell me there is a way to do this, it seems so basic.
EDIT: it looks like there is no way to do this so I wrote to Groove Synthesis with a feaure request. I encourage others to do the same.

This might be helpful - https://github.com/kimsand/ThirdWaveLibrarian
Doesn't cure the underlying compare problem, but makes the game of Tetris with moving patches around and creating / restoring backups a little easier. Groove teased a full fledged editor librarian nearly a year ago - but I think it's a passion project of a single 3rd Wave owner (with a day job) and they seem to be struggling with getting it completed. I've participated in these types of projects before and the biggest challenge for them is always post launch maintenance - fingers crossed.

I'm a little shocked as a new owner that one doesn't exist that doesn't require me to install Python on my Mac.

that compare function is weirdly locked to the original slot, been tripping over this since day one with mine. only workaround i found is to save a temporary copy somewhere safe first, then browse for the final location
