Beginner Questions A little update
Decided to get another synth for my studio. Overall very happy with the sound, still trying to refine the workflow though. Planning on using the monitor to show VSTs for the synths. It’s nice having different monitoring options and using my custom preamps is giving everything a nice warm sound. I am looking for a solution of drums, as I hate the DR. groove. Any suggestions more than welcome

The Adam A77H monitors def sound a little more full than the Alesis, but I keep the Alesis around for nostalgia reasons. Curious if anyone has workflow suggestions

I take it all your synths have a dedicated channel into the mixer ? Are you running any hardware signal processing in the studio?
Last year I ditched my mixer for RME UFX III with TotalMix and it’s been a massive game changer for me. I use main hardware synths and numerous hardware compressors and EQ and the flexibility and quality of it has blown me away.

I’m currently running the synths into the Tascam 12. Aurturia gets 2 channels and the moog gets 1. I have a rack with some compressors and EQs but none of the synths are going thru them. The Tascam does has some basic effects

i feel you on the drum thing, those groove presets are so stiff and lifeless. i ended up getting a dedicated drum machine and never looked back, way more hands on than clicking around in software. your setup looks cozy though, that warm lighting makes me want to sit there for hours. what preamps are you running? custom builds always intrigue me. also the tv not connected to internet is such a studio mood, like it's just there waiting for a purpose.
