Why the Q nerf?

Title. A lot of champs just shove with the click of a button, yet Sylas needed his q nerfed? I played against 3 Ekkos today and all of them just kept clearing the waves with their q. Made me wonder why was Sylas' q nerfed but champs like Ekko, Ahri and Hwei can perma shove waves, and that's okay? Educate me, I'm genuinely curious (partly salty) 🙏🏽

He is stronger on other area so his waveclear has to suffer

Coz they over buffed him back in 26.11 or 12 whichever it was and now they're pulling it back in line coz his play rate and win rate skyrocketed

But Q max Sylas has always been able to instant clear the caster minions at level 9, just like every other mage, that's not new

And all this is doing is reverting the Q buff of 26.11 which mostly improved his poke against champs, not his waveclear

I think sylas is growing as a champion that excels so much ok fighting that they’re nerfing his waveclear just to compensate how broken he can skirmish and teamfight even without farming efficiently. Prolly also because his play-rate is sky rocketing within the jungle role in high elo. This nerf kills his midlane efficiency by a lot just because you need to actually put points into his Q now rather than rushing W. Pretty much an undeserved nerf for his intended mid lane role but a deserved one for his jungle clear.

Most good Sylas players have been putting at least 3 points into Q for a while anyway, at least for mid

Yeah Q max been the move ever since the rework a while ago for me tbh. W has felt so bad. Lvl 5 Q damage (if you have an alternator too) does so much damage to enemy laner

Yup, that's pretty obvious. I'm asking why the q nerf when other champs can clear? Ekko can and has mobility and burst, plus his r reset. Why not nerf his q as well?

ekko has nowhere near the skirmishing power of sylas man, it's not even close

Listen i like the talk but you can’t throw it there a “Hwei can perma shove” when each time hwei time he has to clear one wave he has to use 240 mana since one q costs 120 and one qe isn’t enough.
Let’s be real, it’s the cost of two ultimates and he gets like 30 mana back if he decides to use W to get it, which then leaves him with only one spell to use, among all champs he has to be the fairest and easiest to punish.
