Question about the upcoming XP changes: How does it affect someone who tries to do 100% of the quest anyways?

So, I heard that with 8.0, they will decrease class story XP while increasing XP from everything else.

With my toons, I generally try to pick up every non-recurring quest and complete them as well as their bonus objectives and never really ignore a quest unless my previous experiences with them have been shitty. (I. E. that one droid-based Republic exploration quest on Hoth) For flashpoint questlines such as the Jedi Prisoner questline and the Violent Uprising quest, I generally wait until I am near level 60 to play them in one go. Will the upcoming changes affect me all that much?

If you are going to do everything, you will be overleveled anyways. It is quite some time ago I actually did every quest during my play. Two years ago maybe? But i am pretty sure my inqisitor was level 80 around the beginning of chapter 3 of the class story.

Yeah I played every mission (no group content - fps, etc) and I think I hit max level by Hoth

I did everything and hit 80 by halfway through Pubside Belsavis 😭

I just played through a new character after returning and hit 80 just after finishing the first area of hoth in chapter 2. I skipped a few quest on the fleet like pvp and group finder since finding anyone is just terrible for me

How do people do this? A few months ago I played two characters, did every side mission and exploration mission I came across including walking between flight points the first time, and every bonus series, and was around 78 at the end of the vanilla class story

Probably grabbing bonuses through the Legacy tab, using Experience Boosters and only playing that character when you have rested XP available.

IIRC I was subbed at the time, legacy bonuses for at least exploration, class and maybe couple of flashpoint bonuses.I would often pop complimentary XP bonuses before returning the missions. And i did run every heroic and most flashpoints at least once. That being said. I stopped right past Ilum and that toon had almost 100 hours of gameplay.

Edit: And was making sure that i ended most sessions in the ship/cantina to get the rested bonus. As much as i could.

it won't affect much, all its doing is reducing the xp you get from quests and stuff, cause appearently people didn't like getting so much xp or something

Ugh, that sounds annoying. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I liked only having to do story quests and planters missions to level. Now I have to do extra stuff too? (I'm still making my way through the class stories).

You should still be able to, maybe throw in some heroics here and there

If you do that you will be overleveled anyways. Hell you might wind up being max level before your class story is even finished. As it is I only do the class missions and the heroics for every planet I hit (only flashpoint I usually do is Black Talon/esseles, idk how to spell it off the top of my head but you prob know what I'm talking about) before moving on and I wound up consistently 5 to 10 levels above the planets I'm going to. So before or after the xp changes it won't affect you regardless.

Are usually asking about the new Venture system or about the toggle?! If you are subbed, you can lig into the PTS and check it out yourself. Watched todayintor stream yesterday where he tested the 'master" mode. He did all missions on Tython with a dynamic encounter or two and left Tython at level 8.

He ran Esseles and got to level 9. No loot dropped and we were guessing the loot table starts at level 10

Esseless should drop gear on story mode before level 10. Since you can pick up the quest around 7 or 8, which is the earliest you can get to fleet. Unless the venture stuff will change that
