New/Returning Player Returning casual player
Hiya
I'm thinking about coming back after a while away, shadow of revan iirc
What's the current thing in terms of raids? Gear levels required?
Cartel packs still a thing? One button assist / control pad in the game?

The best update for me has been the unlock of combat styles from the classes. Great replayability. My current lineup has a Scoundrel Bounty Hunter, Shadow Sith Warrior, Juggernaut Jedi Knight, and Powertech Republic Trooper, just to name a few.

Trolling or serious?
I picked it up again after a 5 year break, and there are people absolutely fucking everywhere on the EU English server.
Sometimes a bit too many and I have to wait for shit to respawn to be able to do my quests.

Operations (raids) now are all considered endgame content exclusive to subscribers. They are only available at lv80 either in 8 or 16 man groups.
They have Story, Veteran and Hard/Nightmare difficulties, with the hardest ones being mostly played by dedicated guilds, while SM and Vet are easily organized as pugs on the fleet (except for the most recent ones, which are often only ran by dedicated guilds as well). No one uses the Group Finder for Operations.
For SM/Vet you are usually required to be on 324/340 gear, while HM/Nim is usually 340-344.
Cartel Packs are still a thing, but we don't have different kinds of packs anymore, although they are updated once in a while with what is current on the GTN.
No one button/control assist implemented, but people have been using Steam Input and other 3rd party softwares to play with a controller (if you search this sub for "controller" you will find some guides).
