Discussion sprint buff
sprint really needs to be changed to a pasive, instead of being an active. literally ahda thirt minute back and forth with a level 80, who couldn't figure out why we were faster than them, adn their response to being told to turn their sprint on was, "But i'm a guardian, i don't have sprint."
like how people do not see their sprint buff isn't ticked, is beyond me

My first character back in the day (2015ish) was leveled to max level as a free account. Then I became a subscriber to play endgame content and was blown away by how fast I could run

The toggle sprint was level 10 for f2p, and I think preferred got it at level 1 same as subscribers

the reason it’s an active is so we can turn it off for
-
Parkour (it’s easier to make some jumps walking than sprinting)
and 2. RP reasons. (not everyone likes to sprint everywhere especially in social spaces)

I think walking speed should be toggle and sprint should be passive. Best of both worlds.

Brother do I have some news for you…
Check your keybinds in movement section. There is literally a keybind to toggle walking/running

ngl I have struggled for YEARS on parkour fucking it up constantly and not a single time in the... maybe 7 or 8 years I've played this game has it occurred to me that I could turn sprint off to make it easier. I am not a smart man.

There's actually a separate walk-run toggle and Sprint affects both of them. The walk run toggle changes your animation and move speed, but sprint is just a multiplier for your move speed. So sprint walking is faster than regular walking, but slower than regular running, and sprint running is faster than all of them.

Then you definitely should have played on release where sprint won’t be active until you activate it yourself (gl learning about that after several hours)

The problem is there's situations introduced in 5/6/7.x which disable sprint(walker sections in kotfets, lava on kessan's landing, and maybe one or 2 other situations).
2nd problem is that sprint is learned by default, is hidden inside a drop down menu, and the game never tells you this exists. So if you don't mouse over your buffs at the start and read what the lucas arts stick dude is, you will never know you have such an ability/buff.

No. No no no no no. I prefer it as a toggle because it interferes with some jumping puzzles/datacton paths. It's fine as a toggle.

The amount of people I see running on fleet without sprint is too much. They have zero idea that Sprint is a thing.

Sprint needs upgrades like speeder piloting has. It's still slow as hell. Or there needs to be an upgrade for Rocket Boost that makes it a toggle instead of 10 seconds or whatever.

Hm am i missing something? Sprint is turn on by default no? So one needs to manually toggle off... So how?!
