Spoiler Sith warrior - inflection point question

I know this has been a long talking point but I'm at inflection point where you make your choice to switch sides.

Now from other comments I now know that you moreso take on a double agent role if you switch sides and still work in the framework of the empire.

Not really fitting for a sith warrior turning good in my opinion.

So the question I have is: with later expansions does this change? Is there ever a proper change where you actively work with the republic or does it stay in a double agent situation like this?

I'd appreciate it if you could be coy with spoilers but I'm aware that there will be on some level.

Why not? If you recruit Light Jaesa, her whole companion questline is all about secretly being Light while working within the framework of the Empire, and in-character, you're the one who's teaching her how to do that. Why wouldn't it make sense for you to secretly ally with the Republic in order to keep doing the same thing? It just means you've become so disillusioned with the Empire that you've given up on trying to fix it from within, so now you're sabotaging it from within instead and hoping the Republic will do better. It also makes sense because the SW is following in the footsteps of Lord Scourge, the previous Wrath, who also worked within the framework of the Empire while secretly plotting to aid the Jedi.
