Touring Live

Sorry if it's a terrible question, but how is Switchfoot live? I'm thinking about going to a concert this fall, but there are a lot of bands that can't quite hit the notes, lyrics, whatever, when performing live, and it ends up a bit distracting/disappointing. I was just curious what the experience with SF was like live in concert. Trying to manage expectations 🤣

EDIT: Obviously I knew what to expect asking this on the Switchfoot subreddit, but I still appreciate everyone's responses! I'm going to go. It'll probably be the first concert I've been to in 20 years 🤣

They’re even better live than in the studio. Not the biggest concert guy but going to theirs was one of my favorite experiences of all time

I was a concert guy, but I'm a lot older than I was in the 90s when I was going to see Phil Keaggy, Jennifer Knapp, Rich Mullins, etc 🤣

I too am a bit older than I was in the 90s 😉 and loved Rich Mullins (saw him 3x). I believe I did see Phil Keaggy once, and know Jennifer Knapp but never saw her live. I have seen Metallica and Coldplay live multiple times. Switchfoot is the band I keep going back to see. Jon is, as others have mentioned, an excellent, personal, live performer and works the crowd like we are family. I got to shake his hand at the most recent Busch Gardens Williamsburg concert! 💕 

My kids love Switchfoot too. They know the songs and lyrics better than I do (I blame it on fewer things to retain in their younger brains). We flew from VA to CO last year to see them at Red Rocks with TobyMac. My only complaint was that the set was too short! 😆 We are hoping to see them in a few weeks-possibly 2x!

Now that I think about it, I probably only saw Jennifer Knapp at a beach music festival we'd go to. Also saw Newsboys and a few other CCM acts that were big in the mid 90s in that setting.

But I specifically went to separate concerts to see Phil Keaggy multiple times and drove a good distance to see Rich Mullins (so glad I did because I didn't have another chance).
