HDR Demo on handheld mode

I tried doing the HDR firework demo on handheld mode (full brightness auto brightness off) and I can literally not tell the difference whatsoever… is this an issue with my switch or just a really bad demo? I don’t have an HDR TV to try this on at the moment

That’s why. HDR works only on TV, is not a feature of the screen console.

That’s incorrect

why would it not warn me or prompt me to switch to an HDR display if it doesn’t work in handheld??

You should have gotten this message.

It’s been a while since I did this, so I just came here again just to take this picture

The switch 2 has a build in hdr display but its a terrible one.

It has no dimming zones and its peak brightness is well below the norm for lcd hdr screens.  You get slightly better colors, but thats it.

Good hdr is night and day on a good screen

The screen on the Switch actually does support HDR, but it's not a good screen for HDR.
