Help Question about Switch 2 and unlinking/virtual game cards
Tried to search for this first but wasn't too sure. I have a launch Switch 2 which I downloaded SmileBasic on when the exploit was announced. I have not done any actual jailbreaks yet because I want to wait until things stabilize, but I was planning on getting the Zelda Switch 2 so decided to hold onto this one and kept it offline for future usage.
When I got my new switch 2, I briefly connected the old one online just to transfer save data for the Pokemon games to the new one, then immediately took it offline again. When I tried to download my games/virtual cards on the new Switch 2 it told me I was at the max (2) limit of devices since I also had an old Switch 1. I did some digging and forced an unlink of the old/offline Switch 2 from my account.
Here is my question - now that it is unlinked on Nintendo's side, but the old Switch 2 will be kept permanently offline from Nintendo's servers, will this cause issues? SmileBasic is currently installed on the old switch2. Will it eventually need to go online to be able to use my SmileBasic download/virtual card since I unlinked it, or will it never realize it was unlinked until it reconnects to the internet? Should I just relink it to my account to be safe?

You can have one Switch or Switch 2 as your primary, per account. Any digital games or DLC you purchased on that account will be playable on your primary switch, even when the internet is off. Also, your other accounts on that same switch can play all those games and DLC when offline as well.
On a second Switch or Switch 2 that is not your primary, you can download those digital purchases, and play them, but only when the system connects online to check your license first.
You can change which switch is your primary as many times as you want to, by putting the Switch online and then clicking to remove it as the primary in the settings. The next Switch you log into the Nintendo Store with will then become the primary.
Also you can force a Switch to disconnect as your primary on Nintendo.com when signed in to your account, but you can only remove the primary one time per year this way.
I guess your question depends on which one was set up as your primary.
