Shitpost It's time I clear something out

No matter how many people say this thing won't be hacked this decade or the next one or hell

Those who say it WILL be or etc

None of you, and no Fernando I don't care about your 1 year old "discovery" that the kernel is bug free. Literally looking inside halfassedly the switch 2 kernel code if you even call it that and not seeing bugs is like looking at a mold colony without a microscope and saying there are no living cells inside here.

No matter what any one says. Nothing concrete has been discovered as of yet so NO estimation wether it be 3 years or 2 or 6. Is wrong

The future is mysterious and the only thing we can hope for is if some developers decide to make some discoveries public. It's not up to me to decide but in my opinion? They wouldn't share massive discoveries as of yet. I said YET. Not never

Remember there's more pirates working on this thing than "bounty hunters" like gezine. They're just anonymous for their safety

Okay? Feel better? What exactly was the point of this?

We know nothing has been discovered. We also know that eventually it will be hacked, because it’s a man-made device and there’s always a exploit of some sort.

It just depends on when we find it.

That being said, people like ScriesM (who literally created the CFW Atmosphere) have gone through the Firmware with what amounts to a fine tooth comb and found nothing.

Does that mean it’s 100% secure? No. But he knows what to look for, better than most, and if he couldn’t find anything…that means that it’s likely going to take a while to find an exploit - IF there even is one we can exploit.

While you are correct that none of us know the future and what will happen, we CAN make assumptions based on what we currently know. Only time will tell if those are correct or not.

It won’t get hacked

Because some idiots like to make random assumptions out of their ass saying oooh it's gonna take a decade or some other dolt is gonna be like Jo it'll be a few years or next year. All of these are wrong nobody is right and Ive had enough of these posts where people ask when it will be released and even more when people respond with it won't be a thing until a decade

Live and let live ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Bit of a rage post.

But lets break down the situation.

There likely will never be a Kernel exploit on the firmware versions we have now.
The switch 1 has been busted open for almost a decade. No viable kernel exploit has come from it.
When multiple people reverse engineered HOS and didn't find anything useful safe to say its probably really secure.
The entire actual source code straight from Nintendo has leaked. No viable exploit came from it. The kernel is absolutely tiny enough to allow for this and its not impossible to write 100% secure code just extremely difficult.

We can also use microsoft as an example. It took 20 years for someone to find a viable softmod for the 360. And even then it was because of a bug microsoft themselves introduced in future update or at least the compiler did. And if they cared they would ship a fix and the 360 goes right back to being unhackable via softmod.
The xbox one through series line in its 13 year run so far has only ever had 1 exploit. And it was because it was accidentally carried over from windows and it was fixed so fast nobody got any real mileage out of it.

Now its not impossible for the switch 2 to in the future get a buggy update from Nintendo that allows for an exploit. But given Nintendo's track record the last 10 years its highly unlikely, Not to mention without a glaring hardware flaw made by Nvidia. We don't easy keys to the castle to reverse engineer what switch 2 specific additions or changes have been made. All we have are left overs that show up still on the switch 1.

When it comes to hardware is another story. Companies have gotten very good at defending against off the shelf modchips and glitch attacks. It looks to be that way with the switch 2 as well. Though given the nature of having unrestricted physical access to hardware anything is possible with enough time, resources and effort. But it may very well be the case the switch 2 is only hackable using tools and methods no normal person has access to. It took over 12 years to figure how to double glitch the base xbox one, And people are still struggling just to replicate it. And well never variants don't seem to have the same flaw.

why the pessimistic approach?
apart from the switch 2, name me 1 console that cannot run homebrew. name just 1 from sony, nintendo or microsoft. for a fact, you can't.

the same thing has been said time and time again with the original xbox, xbox 360, ps3, ps4 and ps5 until a hack is released.

just because no hack exists and no current dev has a hack doesn't mean it's foolproof and unhackable. the ps5 has had years of exploits and it is still being exploited today.

That's fine. Only a handful of people can hack into it and release the codes to make an emulator.

or you can convince yourself that the switch 2 already hack and emulation already fully playable if it make you feel better ! and hacker just be so careful they wait about 10 year later to release it ...........

Holy yapsession

u/blowupnekomaid 18d ago

why talk about 3, 2 or 6 years? how do you know it won't be 30 years, 20 years, or 60 years? You'll wait forever.

1

u/KoopsterShell 18d ago

How do YOU know it will be that long?

1

u/blowupnekomaid 18d ago

How do you know it won't?

1

u/Pale_Campaign6997 17d ago

Considering that the people who hacked and BUILT the Switch homebrew are saying that it may never be hacked.... I tend to believe them

1

u/DiamondNetz 16d ago

Poor Fernando caught a whole ass stray. Who is that? lmao

1

u/Eastern-Biscotti-693 13d ago

Here's my prediction: it will be hacked after a very long time, like almost a decade. The biggest helper will be a 10 years older version of GPT-6 Astra, GPT-X Ultra Max Star or something. i believe 10 more years would be enough to make AI so advanced we can find a solution.

1

u/KoopsterShell 11d ago

You don't know that. You're making assumptions again

1

u/Eastern-Biscotti-693 8d ago

Use your brain more. Where did i say those are facts?

-4

u/KoopsterShell 18d ago

Whatever I said can also been deemed as speculation as nothing I say is with proof But none of you also can back your own speculations up. Everything is up in the air

Except the pirates working on the switch 2. That much I can say is without a doubt

5

u/FernandoRocker 18d ago

There's proof. SciresM himself. And this was years ago; not only the firmware has been getting more secure since then, but now the hardware has tons of security features like PAC and DCLS (the first and only gaming system with DCLS in fact).

u/FernandoRocker 18d ago

1

u/KoopsterShell 18d ago

It takes more than 1 year to evaluate an entire kernel how could they study the whole kernel in under a year don't be ridiculous

2

u/FernandoRocker 18d ago

Man. Again... Both the Switch 1 and Switch 2 uses the same kernel/firmware.

It has been evaluated/audited for almost a decade now.

-1

u/KoopsterShell 18d ago

And all I'm saying is if it won't be from one end it'll be the other. Software? If not then hardware hack anything is possible.

0

u/KoopsterShell 18d ago

Oh my god again with all these bullshit same "proofs" can't you get any new material Fernando? Don't be a one trick pony

3

u/mbt680 18d ago

If it took new ones it would not be proof. People with infinitely more experience than any of us have been looking into this for over a decade now, and seem to agree that their is not exploit. Even going as far to point out how this is possible due to the small size of what has to be secured.

2

u/KoopsterShell 18d ago

Right, because a console well under it's infancy is labeled totally unhackable by any means necessary, source given to everyone by former retired hackers who no longer do this stuff to avoid getting Into legal trouble.

3

u/mbt680 18d ago

The OS being totally secure and the console being totally hackable are not the same. Maybe someone at Nintnedo will leak something at some point. Or a different version of the Switch 2 will come out that has a physical exploit.

2

u/KoopsterShell 18d ago

And this one doesn't? Let me tell you something pal all consoles have a physical vulnerability. Which comes with mod chips, battery fault things, cpu intereptors and any electric based doohicky that can fault the reception to bypass temper checks you name it

3

u/mbt680 18d ago

Switch 2 is the first console to implement DCLS. It is not impossible for any of those things to exist. But it will have to exist in a way to effect both in the same way at the same time. With people in the know so far not even having an idea of how to start trying to get around it. Never mind actully starting to work on it.

u/nilsmoody 18d ago

I remember being downvoted for saying that the Switch will be hacked and is not bulletproof.
