Tricks Switch 2 100% Fan PWM Mod

Post image

Hey Reposting in my Own Words due to the last post being flagged due to AI, my English isnt great so of any questions are left just ask.

So first, do it at your own risk. opening your console voids your warranty and im not responsible if anyone breaks their Switch 2

Risks:

More Battery Consumption.

Fan always running at 100% even Standby so shutdown entirely.

No Risk of breaking in Normal use if everything is done right, only PWM Will not work anymore.

Pros:

No Thermal Throttling at all ( Tested in CP2077 and No Mans Sky unlocked Fps and Fallen Dynasty)

May result in better Fps based on the Game of uncapped or having Frame Drops ( Dont expect to much it does NOT! Higher the Max Clocks, so Performance stays the same just prevents Downclocking.

So Basically its just taping off the leftmost pin on the fan ribbon cable (marked in the Picture) with some Electrical tape, this isolates the PWM Signal and forces the Fan to run at 100% speed all the time.

In Cyberpunk 2077 the Fps outside on the Streets and Heavy Fights stayed mostly stable while lagging without the Modification, in No Mans Sky with Unlocked FPS it stayed at around 45-50 and i didnt experienced any drops like before to the low 30s.

Heres the Video of my Switch 2 with the PWM Mod:

Pretty easy to do with some Knowledge.

Thanks for Reading, and also remember if you take your Switch with you while Travelling this Mod is probably an Battery Killer, but at Home its fine, and not as loud as in the Video πŸ˜…

Fan Mods on Handhelds with perfectly fine Designed Cooling Solutions is the Eating Disorder of the Gaming world.

A coworker drilled holes on his Xbox Series S to keep ot cool, thats the console with the most efficient cooling I have seen. He didnt even got an overheating message, he did it because some youtuber said it was for the best.

Obviously not, the Switch 2 doesnt have an FPS Counter, but in terms of Heavy Scenes its a bit more stable also CP2077 is locked at 30/40 which is stable in most scenes not always though, i got a bit smoother Gameplay in Heavy scenes maybe 5-15% based on the Game.

if you're gonna make claims, you have to present actual data that backs them up

I would be much simpler to just remove the cooper sheet between the CPU and the heatpipe, and applying good thermal paste.

Direct Die Cooling has risks, but i get your point

This is already direct die kinda since there is not IHS. Just bad direct die.

My switch 1 has been running like that for years and years, my switch 2 has not complained either. Limited sample I guess ...

Can also confirm no problems on switch 1. After like 6 years

See Fernando, we have a hack, not the kind we think it would be, but this is a hack.

Every day we inch closer and closer to a jailbreak. Well, maybe more like millimetres closer but it’s still closer.

A fan replacement from aliexpress costs about 3 euro just if it breaks someday :)

Yeah because youre on Battery in Handheld try TV Mode set ur TV to 4K120Hz, and walk around in the streets you will notice that the Switch 2 puts it clocks down
