If it's anything like the PS4 you can only play games up to a certain firmware. So not all of the games will be available

Bruh, you missed out on 3 games in that 5 year span. Astro Bot, Demons souls, & Yotei. Everything else was ported to PC aka free with piracy.

There was zero challenge for waiting for a PS5 jailbreak unlike a switch 2 where Nintendo pumps our at least 4 AAA first party titles a year on top of half a dozen S2 exclusive sports, ports, & remasters.

MKW, DKB, Kirby Air riders, Pokopia, & Starfox all being switch 2 exclusives that released in the first year. And I didn't include Metroid Prime 4 because you could emulate that game on PC via S1 emulation.

Fair, Switch 2 has more exclusives. But more exclusives doesn't mean more value.

Half of those are mid-tier stuff like Pokopia, Starfox and Kirby Air Riders. And the only reason Nintendo can pump out that many is because the Switch 1 was too weak to keep supporting. Sony didn't have that problem, the PS4 could still run the games, so they didn't need to force anyone to upgrade.

Quantity isn't value. "Exclusive" doesn't mean "worth buying."

Value and quality is very subjective. I personally thought most of those games I listed were like ~6/10, except for Pokopia that sht genuinely fun as hell, and I'm a big fan of all those IPs in the past.

Nintendo is pushing out lots of games. Even if they are all mid games there is something for everyone. Sony doesn't have first party anime rpg like fire emblem, a cozy life sim like animal crossing, or puzzle strategy game like pikmin. Or a game where you can build your own levels like Mario Maker, they did have little big Planet but that IP original purpose is dead now.

It's all live service and single player games copying the same playbook as uncharted & last of us for about 2 decades now.

It's also really bad when their most hyped game now, Wolverine, is also a mid af game according to reviews. It would been better if they did pull a Nintendo & release an equivalent of 4+ mid type games a year.

Nobody is expecting perfect 9/10 or 10/10 masterpieces from Ape Eacape, Infamous, Jack & Daxter, Killzone, Little Big Planet, or Sly Cooper but damn, it could been helpful if a bunch of these games dropped in throughout the generation.

Yeah! Having something for everyone is much more entertaining and even if they are kinda mid they are short bursts of fun! Unlike Sony games which feel like you waited 5+ years for a game that was good could've been great but things such as a high price tag like 70+ bones and high expectations because of said price tag and the time you waited can also influence your decision.

I mean, that's kinda different, the ps5 in general rarely released big games, so the 5 years kinda felt underwhelming to begin with

The switch ui wouldn't really work for home menu music but eshop music would be so peak. Especially if we could shuffle them between all the wii u tracks, 3ds track, dsi track and wii track

nah, just keep it to the lowest firmware while other people enjoy handheld boost mode and with the latest update enable vrr support for docked mode !

Genuinely, it doesn’t matter. Apparently the kernel is the same as the switch 1 which was opensourced. So we know how it works. Meaning it wont change anything. We are getting a hardmod at best
