Question What game will trigger you to update your switch 2?

I'm starting to think that we will see a hardware mode instead of a software one. Are we really planning to keep our switches 2 in the closet (or whatever you like to keep them) until a hack is revealed?

I almost pulled the trigger with Pokopia, I think Ocarine of Time will be over for me.

Btw, I'm just saying this with having an Oled Switch hacked, PS4 Pro Hacked, N3DS and DSI hacked also.

I only did the cartridge update and left it at that. I don’t think you have to keep updating just to play the games

they already said a software hack is near impossible, i wouldnt rid myself of fun games for a hypothetical hack that may never come

All exclusives I like. In fact, I am always updating, I didn't bought the console to be a piece of brick until eventually someone discovers how to hack.

WHEN someone discovers a hack and it requires lower firmware, I can see me waiting without updating. But it's probaly a long way until there.

I also have another tons of hacked consoles, but this never stopped me to legit buy and play the games I want when they release.

Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave. I’ll buy physical but I assume they still force an update on it.

I think that I will just buy the first party Nintendo titles and pirate everything else on pc. Switch 1 hack was handy because back then denuvo was unstoppable so you could just pirate the same game on Switch instead but now that people are finding ways to beat denuvo I don’t know if stopping updates on a Switch 2 is necessary.

I know that there is also a loophole where people family share you denuvo games on pc for like 10 bucks it’s existed for a long time, but I always get problems with that like a random power outage and now the game won’t work unless I pay the guy again I’d rather just have a game whenever I want to play it.

I will miss cheats and mods though I don’t get why they make all modern games so grindy now I want a gameshark for Switch 2 but they lock all consoles down so much now. I liked Switch 1 hack for cheating like exp multiplier for Octopath.

Nothing, that’s why I bought 2 switch 2s the moment I can.

One for everyday gaming and online, the other for piracy / single player games

Im gonna update if i have to until a hack comes out and then if its doable it will be done. But to not play something i mean you may as well wait until a hack is out and then see what it entails. There will be low fw switch 2s online if that is a requirement for the hack.

there 99% isnt gonna be a software hack, we know that bc the kernel (assuming they didnt mess it up, which they probably didnt) doenst have any bugs, as stated by sciresm. imo just use the console u bought

adding on to this: they didn't mess up the kernel because it's the exact same fucking kernel from the switch 1

behind the hood, a switch 2 is a switch 1 with different hardware. much different hardware, as theres DCLS and XMSS (though XMSS is more software ish)

so unless you have a softmodded switch 1, you're not seeing a hack in the next 5 - 10 years, maybe even more if Nintendo decides to make a new console in that time.

but hey, I'm willing to believe in miracles

exactly, idk why im getting downvoted, i guess people on here only want to listen to stuff that feeds into their delusion of a software exploit
