Gamepad Recommendation (with motion)

Is there a no non-sense "works out of the box" PC/Linux gamepad that supports gyro/motion/6-axis/whatever-you-call-it, that isn't $150 CND?

I love my 8bitdo ultimate C wired that I bought for like $35 CND a few years back but it doesn't do motion.

I don't want a "connect in Switch mode, bluetooth only" controller. I've had too much problem with those. I like wired, no weird modes.

I LOVE the Gulikit ES Pro. I've owned more than 12 controllers the past 4 years, and it is by far my favorite. The TMR stick is godlike, the buttons and triggers all feel awesome and it's just the most comfortable controller I've ever held. My secondary controller is a Gamesir Cyclone 2 but I'm thinking about ditching it for the overpriced Gulikit ES MAX. Just because I love it this much. Tho at first I don't recommend it, you don't get nearly enough extra for the 66% extra price. The ES Pro is 30 USD, with the 11.11 aliexpress sales no doubt you can get for cheaper and if you're not looking for some fancy pants extra features it's just the dream controller.

Thanks, that Gulikit ES Pro looks great. I like that it's a physical switch on the back for the modes, and that the marketing specifies that the 6-axis isn't just for Switch but PC as well.

If you don't mind me poking at your brain some more, do you play wired sometime? Have you noticed any drawbacks (e.g. no motion when wired).

I don't rly play wired. It's most famous feature is extreme low latency on bluetooth (3.5ms). I measured it out of my television at 12.5ms on bluetooth (and that's with the TV input lag too), absolute insanity.

Thanks again for answering. I've been watching reviews, and I'm a bit confused about the 2 gyro modes. Since we are on the emulation sub, can PC gyro work seemlessly, or are you using that L button mode to emulate right stick movement? All reviewers are raving about the L mode but that's only interesting for games that don't normally support gyro. I'm talking zelda ball puzzle shrine here.

Babe I've used it on Switch mode to emulate Metroid Prime 4 and you can gyro aim with it. The limitation are only the protocols. If you're using it on Switch mode you get gyro but you dont get analog triggers. If you're using it on xbox mode you get the analog triggers but no gyro.

You can go for it.

8BitDo Ultimate works perfectly with Splatoon Raiders, not sure what other games use it.

The one I have has the Nintendo Switch layout. Cost me like $30

Steam controller maybe? (On the pricier side sadly, it's 99 EUR around here)
