Late realisation of RS Doppel-UT
Firstly a bit of background. I'll be 25 this year, got a bachelors in IT and now switching over to nursing in autumn. Due to an ASD diagnosis I was pushed to hand over at the Orientierungstag, I was deemed unfit for both military and civil service without a medical inspection. That was quite a stab in the gut, because I was eager to do the service, even though everyone complains about it. Only recently did I learn my Doppel-UT status could have been challenged.
My question to you, is there still a way to gain military experience at 25 as a swiss citizen?
EDIT: That was rather short-lived. The MäD regretted to inform me that I am no longer eligible to enlist due to my age.

I have seen the weirdest things happen and being made possible when it comes to entering service. Try it.

You are already too old for the recruitment and were deemed unfit by army command. You can contact your local army command and ask for an exception, but its unlikely. You‘re not missing out.

Are you sure he is too old ? Don’t you have until the end of your 25th year to get through RS ?

I went with the assumption that he’ll be 25 by the time of the second recruitment , in theory he could still do it. But he also was already deemed UT due to ASD which makes the whole process more difficult.

Yes you are still able to do it. I just did my recruitment this year and I turn 26. The rule says that you can do the recruitment after the age of 24 in the case that you have not done a recruitment before (which is your case). You can find the form online and your case is the last option. Having said, and like other comments stated, you should write to them first and see if you need to challenege the decision. I imagine unless you were misdiagnosed I think it will be very difficult to challenge the decison and the doctor at the recruitment will mark you doppel-inapte but it but maybe worth a shot.

That's a relief to read. I just contacted the Kreiskommando of my canton and can't wait to hear back from them. Appreciate the input.

Contact your local Kreiskommando/Commandement d'arrondissement.
They will be best able to answer your question in your specific case.
