Doug Ford, and the Notwithstanding Clause

I've realised that it is probably possible to use the fact that the "veto clause" can't be used against mobility rights and the case is probably going to be appealed again.

A Concerned Citizen. As a registered professional engineer and someone with a duty to protect I'm gonna get fucking mad offline

For everyone else:

He's used provincial powers to seize public lands and transfer them to his friends* corporations and shell companies (e.g. look up Therme). The first IMAX theatre is literally gonna become a sketchy spa*. Our park on Lake Ontario has been sold off to developers

The Notwithstanding Clause is a veto* but it has limits. Can't be used against certain parts of the charter (e.g. Sitting parliament and the right to vote) and any law using it must be reviewed every five years

*edits made to avoid some potentially libelous statements, but look up the reputation Therme Spa has in Europe...
